Speaking on the development, Pierre announced that KM2 Solutions’ new facility at Orange Grove will add approximately 300 new jobs, with total employment expected to reach 1,000 once the expansion is complete.
“KM2, they are expanding in Saint Lucia at Orange Grove and they’re going to be adding approximately 300 new jobs. When the expansion is complete, there will be 1,000 new jobs created at KM2 in the new facility at Orange Grove. That is in addition to what they employ now,” the Prime Minister said.
Pierre noted that this achievement aligns with projections he made during his 2025–2026 Budget Address, when he signalled that the Orange Grove site would be expanded. He also reflected on the history of KM2’s operations in Saint Lucia, recalling his tenure as Minister of Commerce in 2004 when the company, then known as Helen IT, first began operations.
“It was in 2004 when I was the Minister of Commerce… KM2 began its first operations in Saint Lucia under the name Helen IT. They operated from Union, and I want to compliment the people involved, that is Mr Fevrier and his wife, the first locals to get involved in that business,” Pierre said, paying tribute to Valerie Albert Fevrier, who has since passed.
With government support, Helen IT grew into KM2 Solutions, which has since become one of the region’s leading BPO firms. Pierre said this expansion demonstrates not only confidence in the BPO sector but also broader growth across the economy.
“More jobs, more investment, more confidence in the Saint Lucian economy. You will see that both in services, in manufacturing, and in tourism, the economy is expanding,” he added, citing developments in BPO, Baron Foods in manufacturing, and Habour Club and Marquis Estates in tourism.
The Prime Minister reiterated that his administration views expansion in the services sector as vital for job creation and economic resilience, positioning Saint Lucia to attract further investment in the years ahead.
