Lisa Jawahir to Launch Campaign for Castries South East Amid Renewed Government Investment Promises

Wednesday, Sep 17

n Sunday, September 21, 2025, Senator Lisa Jawahir will be officially launched as the Saint Lucia Labour Party’s candidate for the Castries South East constituency.

The event will take place in Odsan at 3 p.m., with expected attendance by senior party leadership, local stakeholders, and members of the public.

As the campaign season kicks off, the launch comes at a time when residents are looking closely at what the government has already done in the community and what more it can deliver. Making her debut appearance on the first episode of Chill & Chat (aired 16 September 2025), Jawahir used the show to introduce her platform, address community concerns, and articulate what constituents can expect under her representation. The show, hosted by Maundy Lewis, is intended to bring voters closer to SLP candidates in an informal, conversational format.

Lisa Jawahir’s appearance on Chill & Chat offers a clearer picture of her campaign’s direction: focused, people-centred, and grounded in accountability. For Castries South East residents, the launch of her campaign signals potential for concrete improvements in infrastructure, services, and community engagement.

Jawahir enters the race as a fresh face with institutional backing, strong communications skills, and an opportunity to define a new chapter for Castries South East under the SLP banner. Joachim Henry leaves behind a record with both achievements and criticisms; his exit from candidacy reflects party strategy and internal shifts.

Guy Joseph stands as a formidable opponent, with political experience and sharp criticisms of the SLP.

The coming campaign will likely hinge less on lofty promises and more on how clearly each candidate can articulate plans, claim credit for past work, and convince voters that they will deliver. For Castries South East, the contest is not just between individuals, but between past performance, expectations, and visions of who will best carry the constituency forward.
