icoud North MP Jeremiah Norbert joined educators of the Micoud Secondary School on Wednesday at a special celebratory brunch held in recognition of their unwavering dedication to education and their vital role in shaping Saint Lucia’s future.

The event formed part of Teachers’ Appreciation Week 2025, during which a series of activities have been scheduled across the island to honor teachers for their commitment to the nation’s children and communities.

Addressing the gathering, MP Norbert praised the selfless contribution of teachers, describing them as “pillars of national development and guardians of opportunity for the next generation.”

“Teachers are not only responsible for educating our children; they are shaping the very foundation of our society,” Norbert said. “Here in Micoud, we see every day how teachers go beyond the classroom to inspire, mentor, and uplift our youth. Their dedication ensures that our children are equipped with the knowledge and values they need to thrive and contribute meaningfully to Saint Lucia’s growth.”

The celebratory brunch provided teachers with a moment of relaxation and reflection in the midst of their busy schedules. Organizers emphasized that the event was a token of gratitude for the invaluable role educators play in both personal and national development.

Teachers’ Appreciation Week continues with school-based programs, community tributes, and national activities designed to highlight the profession’s importance and to encourage greater support for educators across the country.
