inister in the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Youth Economy, Hon. Wayne Girard, has credited the stewardship of Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre and the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) for the island’s economic and social progress, as he rallied supporters ahead of the next general election.

Recently addressing a political gathering, Girard declared that the government’s achievements were not by chance but the result of deliberate planning under the leadership of Prime Minister Philip J Pierre.

“This is all because of the member of Parliament for Castries East, our Prime Minister, the Honourable Philip Joseph Pierre,” Girard said. “Because of his work, because of our unity, we are able to do the things we are doing for you in this country. Businesses are employing more people, young Saint Lucians are dreaming bigger and aiming higher, and we have been able to invest in education, infrastructure, roads, and communities. We are doing this to lift every single one in this country.”

Girard who also serves as the MP for Anse La Raye/Canaries, emphasized that sound economic management goes beyond fiscal numbers, underscoring its impact on families and individuals.

“It’s about stability in your home, food on your table, opportunities for your children, and dignity in your daily lives,” he noted.

He urged supporters to remain united in defending the party’s record of governance, warning that the upcoming election would be about more than just selecting parliamentary representatives.

“This election is about choosing the future you want for your children,” he said.

Girard’s impassioned call capped off a rallying cry for supporters to “keep the country growing, striving, and heading in the right direction” under the SLP banner.
