he relentless efforts of Saint Lucia’s law enforcement to rid communities of illegal guns and drugs have yielded significant results following a coordinated police operation in Bexon that led to multiple arrests, firearm and drug seizures, and several charges.

On Friday, November 7, 2025, around 1:00 pm, officers from the Gangs, Narcotics and Firearms Unit (GNFU), supported by the Special Services Unit (SSU), executed a targeted operation in Bexon aimed at disrupting criminal networks and removing illegal weapons from the streets.

During the operation, officers intercepted Zayne Austinay, and a search of his person revealed one Glock 43X pistol and nine rounds of 9mm ammunition. Austinay was later charged with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition.

He appeared in court on Monday, November 8, 2025, where he was granted bail in the sum of EC$40,000, cash or suitable surety. His matter has been adjourned to February 12, 2026.

In a separate but related operation, officers executed a search warrant at the Bexon residence of Tachem Preudhomme, where they discovered a quantity of compressed cannabis, cannabis resin, and cash.

Both Tachem Preudhomme and Treshia Preudhomme were arrested and charged with possession of controlled drugs (cannabis), possession of controlled drugs (cannabis resin), and possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply.

They appeared in court on Monday, November 10, 2025, and were each granted bail in the sum of EC$7,500. Their matter has been set for February 19, 2026.

Police have reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying operations targeting illegal firearms and narcotics, noting that these coordinated efforts form part of a broader strategy to safeguard communities and stem the tide of violent crime across Saint Lucia.
