The school recently hosted its Year One Exhibition under the theme “Stronger Together,” offering a vibrant showcase of the achievements from the first phase of a transformative two-year initiative funded by the European Union and led by the Commonwealth Local Government Forum.
The initiative, designed to reimagine vocational education and equip students with market-ready skills, has seen broad collaboration across public, private, and community sectors.
Principal Augusta Emmanuel-John hailed the exhibition as a key milestone in the school’s development journey.
“As promised last year, as part of the project requirements, today’s exhibition will showcase a variety of the new skills our students have acquired thus far,” she stated. “It has truly been a breathtaking journey, laced with opportunities for reflection and learning.”
She noted the breadth of the project’s oversight, which includes a diverse steering committee comprising country representatives, local government officials, school administrators, business community leaders, the student council, teacher coordinators, and representatives from the Ministry of Education.
TVET Education Officer Delthia Naitram underscored the importance of collaboration in achieving educational goals.
“All of us must work together: communities, big funding agencies, small donors, parents, and people in our communities with various skills—to ensure that every single student who comes to this school actualises the intentions we have for them,” Naitram said. “So that the possibility becomes a reality.”
The Year One Exhibition highlighted the students’ competencies in a range of technical and vocational disciplines, reflecting the practical, hands-on focus of the rebranded institute’s curriculum.
