Saint Lucia continues to cement its place as a premier destination for high-profile travelers, with recent visits by American actresses Taraji P. Henson and Tasha Smith highlighting the island’s growing international allure.
The stars are currently enjoying a seven-day getaway, drawn to the island by its natural beauty, charm, and a rising wave of global recognition.
Public Relations Manager of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, Geraine Georges, confirmed the visit and expressed her excitement over the growing celebrity interest.
“I think the stars are choosing Saint Lucia. On Sunday we welcomed American actress Taraji P. Henson, currently one of the biggest stars with 1.5 million views on her latest Netflix film ‘Straw.’ Along with her is the well-known Tasha Smith, who audiences may recognize from the ‘Why Did I Get Married’ series.”
Georges noted that Henson and Smith chose Saint Lucia based on social media buzz and recommendations: “Just hearing Taraji say that they chose Saint Lucia based on people putting the views out there and that she had to have that view it’s a rewarding feeling for us.”
The island's appeal has also been boosted by partnerships with other celebrities, including singer Chloe Bailey and actor Lance Gross, who recently visited for the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival. These visits, Georges said, are part of a larger strategy to highlight Saint Lucia not only as a luxury retreat but as an immersive cultural experience.
“We’re inviting celebrities to go beyond the festivals, to explore the communities, ride ATVs, go horseback riding, visit the Pitons just come and experience Saint Lucia for what she truly is,” she explained.
A key contributor to the island’s rising profile is Olympic medalist Julien Alfred, whose athletic success has turned her into a national icon and global ambassador for Saint Lucia. Georges shared that Alfred’s influence is being felt far beyond the track
