The group, which included Imran Nerdy, Ezra D’Fun Machine, and Hollywood HP, spoke passionately about their experiences and the deep cultural connections between the two islands.
Soca artiste Imran Nerdy described the experience as “brilliant” and highlighted the warmth of the Dominican audience.
He said, “The people are wonderful. It’s just an amazing feeling to see that you get to a whole different country and still feel that you actually have been chosen to be. The love is just immense currently. Everybody supports everyone. It’s just a wonder again and the feeling is just brilliant. The performances are marked to the maximum. The people are just great and it’s a wonderful night.”
Headliner Ezra D’Fun Machine, reflecting on performing early in the morning after Triple K, called the atmosphere “absolutely amazing.”
He shared, “Just seeing all the Solution people in attendance, they were relatively resilient. They figured, listen, we’re here for our artists and that stood out for me. So big shout-out to all my Solution people. That was an amazing experience.” He also emphasized the opportunity to showcase other Saint Lucian talent, noting, “I figured we had to do things different. And what better way to use that opportunity to actually bring on some other Solution creatives. I mean, there are so many to go around, but this time around I went with Arthur, Ale and Imanody. And it was absolutely amazing. These guys have been putting in the work and I think it's just a testament to the good work that we’ve been putting in over the years in Soca Music.”
Popular DJ Hollywood HP reflected on Saint Lucia’s distinct musical identity and the longstanding relationship with Dominica.
He said, “As much as Ezra was the one officially booked for the event, and he invited his brothers, I believe the people know that Saint Lucia has this uniqueness. You know, as much as we celebrate Bouyon, we celebrate Dominica culture, they also know that we as well have our uniqueness in our music and our vibes and our talent. Which is why they invite us to be part of the festival each and every year. It’s been consistent for the past five years or so.”
The delegation’s performances reinforced the cultural ties between Saint Lucia and Dominica, celebrating the shared Creole heritage while showcasing the unique energy and talent of Saint Lucian soca.
