M

edical Director of St. Jude Hospital, Dr. Adelaide Moonie, has confirmed that the long-awaited transition from the George Odlum Stadium to the newly reconstructed St. Jude Hospital in Augier is officially underway.

The new medical facility was formally handed over to the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs on November 16th, paving the way for the commissioning process and the gradual relocation of clinical services.

Dr. Moonie announced that the hospital’s Physiotherapy Department will be among the first units to transition.

“As we commence our transitioning of services from the George Odlum Stadium to the new St. Jude site in Augier, the Physiotherapy Department wishes to announce that our services will be suspended, effective Monday, November 17th, until Friday, November 21st, to facilitate our move,” she said.

She added that the team is eager to begin operating in the improved environment offered by the new facility.

“We are glad to announce that services will resume at our new site, effective Monday, November 24, 2025. We look forward to serving you.”

The Ministry of Health has not yet released a full transition timetable for the remaining departments but has indicated that commissioning activities are advancing steadily.

The move marks a major milestone in Saint Lucia’s healthcare development and brings an end to more than a decade of hospital operations inside the stadium following the 2009 fire.
