The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force confirmed the identification in a statement issued on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

According to police, the Babonneau Police Station received a missing-person report for the then 33-year-old Phillip in November 2023.

Nearly nine months later, on August 1, 2024, police responded to a report that human remains had been discovered in the vicinity of Pigeon Point Beach in Gros Islet.

The remains were recovered and subsequently submitted for DNA analysis as investigators sought to establish the person's identity.

More than two years after the discovery, investigators received the results of that analysis on September 11, 2026.

Police said the DNA results confirmed that the remains were those of Schneik Phillip.

The circumstances surrounding Phillip's death have not been detailed, and police say investigations into the matter are continuing.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has extended condolences to Phillip's family and loved ones while renewing its appeal for information that could assist investigators.

Police have indicated that further information will be released as the investigation progresses.
