t. Jude Hospital Chief Executive Officer, Lydia Atkins, says the news of the likely completion of the hospital has elated staff members. According to her, employees have shown resilience over the years, working under extreme pressure.

“The staff at St Jude Hospital have demonstrated resilience over the last 14 years.”, she disclosed to St. Lucia News Online. “They have provided healthcare under conditions that were never intentionally designed to serve as a hospital and a duration that was not intended or anticipated.”

Atkins describes her staff members as heroes. This, she says, is because they have continued to serve the people of Saint Lucia despite the current situation. She says the completed hospital will return St. Jude to its former glory. This fact, she says, makes staff members extremely excited.

“They have been the heroes of this organization and the prospects of a completed hospital brings hope, a sense of expectation and excitement to returning to our home-base and reclaiming our identity.”, she observed.

As the woman at the helm of the hospital, Atkins says this provides them with the opportunity to realise their goals.

As the CEO, it will bring much provided relief to operate in an environment that will allow the hospital to realize its aspiration to be  the preferred healthcare provider of a broad range of services, delivering exceptional patient-centred care within a culture or compassion and integrity.

According to Prime Minister, Honorable Philip J Pierre, the hospital will be completed at the soonest.
