QUATICS: Eddie Hazell, the President of the Saint Lucia Aquatics Federation, has achieved a significant milestone by being elected to serve on the World Aquatics Bureau.

In his role, Hazell will be representing Zone 2, alongside Dylan Carter of Trinidad and Tobago. The formal appointment of Hazell as either a Direct Executive Member or a World At Large Member is scheduled to take place during the next PanAm Aquatics Executive meeting on January 23, 2024.

This historic accomplishment makes Hazell the first Saint Lucian and the initial administrator from the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) to secure a seat on the prestigious Bureau. The World Aquatics Bureau is composed of prominent figures, including the President of World Athletics, Husain Al-Musallam, and a total of 39 Bureau Members. Among them, 22 are elected by the Congress to serve as continental representatives. Hazell's appointment signifies a notable recognition of his contributions to aquatics administration on a global scale.
