T

he Bishop Charles Gachet RC Primary School is the recipient of a brand-new kitchen facility.

The kitchen boasts a space for culinary arts classes and a sanitary area for preparing meals. Located at Marchand, Castries, the school’s new kitchen was built with Taiwanese aid and championed by the Parliamentary Represented, Hon. Philip J. Pierre.

Castries East MP and Prime Minister, Philip J. Pierre, says this gesture is proof of the government’s commitment to ensuring young people’s dreams are realised. He says his administration will continue investing in the youth.

We are investing in the people of Saint Lucia and we are starting by investing in the young people. I’m pleased and I have confidence that Saint Lucia is on the right path and we will continue to be on the right path despite the naysayers and despite those who’d want you to believe that your country is not doing well,” the Prime Minister said.

Pierre thanks the teachers and everyday Saint Lucians for their sacrifices in maintaining peace and order in the country.

As I’ve always said, there’s no perfect country, there will never be a perfect country in the world. But with hard work and a conscientious nature like our teachers; the people who work every day to make Saint Lucia a brighter place, I want to thank you.”

Education Minister, Hon. Shawn Edward, says the achievements and potential of the school’s students must not go unnoticed.

A lot of people do not appreciate the quality that comes out of the Bishop Charles Gachet RC Primary School. What you witnessed moments ago is dedication and commitment. There is a brilliant child in every student,” the Education Minister said.

Taiwanese Ambassador to Saint Lucia, H.E Peter Chen says the government of the Republic of China Taiwan will continue supporting initiatives geared towards strengthening Saint Lucia’s youth.

This newly renovated culinary space is truly commendable, meeting the highest standards of health and safety. It not only has the capacity to provide nutritious meals but also serves as a vibrant hub for community culinary education. We take great pride in having played a role in bringing Honourable Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre’s vision to fruition.”
