Soufriere Man Charged for Evading Arrest

olice charged a Soufriere man with multiple offenses days after he sustained a gunshot injury during his arrest.

The police identified the man as Francis Pascal of Fond Benier, Soufriere. On Saturday, officers charged the 34-year-old with Assault, Resisting Arrest, and Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition.

The charges relate to an incident on Monday, March 11, 2024, where Pascal tried to escape arrest.

During the course of his arrest, he sustained a gunshot injury. He is currently receiving medical care, and is reported to be in a stable condition. A Smith and Wesson pistol and one (1) magazine containing one (1) .40 round of ammunition was recovered on his person,” the police said in relation to the incident.

He received medical attention and was reported to be in stable condition at the time.
