n Friday April 5th, 2024, the Community Relations Branch, in collaboration with the Gros-Islet Minibus Association, acknowledged a minibus operator who plies the Gros-Islet to Castries route.

The driver in question is none other than Mr. Paul Hyacinth, affectionately known as “Tracker”. Mr. Hyacinth has diligently served as a Minibus Operator for several years. Throughout these years, he has been regarded as one of the most amicable and reliable operators along the route.

Both customers and colleagues have consistently lauded Mr. Hyacinth for his professionalism, courtesy, tidiness, and dependability. It is precisely these qualities that led members of his own association to select him for this recognition. The Community Relations Branch viewed this as a crucial opportunity to enhance community relations by collaborating with the Gros-Islet Minibus Association, to present Mr. Hyacinth with a well-deserved hamper, including a fuel voucher,” the Branch stated in a statement.

The Branch adds that the positive impact of one member of society can have a positive ripple effect. The officers encourage citizens to abide by the law and be their brothers’ keepers.

While Mr. Hyacinth is an individual, his impact demonstrates that even one person can effect positive change. This hamper donation symbolises the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force’s commitment to progressive collaboration with the public in our multifaceted crime-fighting endeavours.”

The Community Relations Branch has been active as of late in response to the high spate in gang related activities. Police Commissioner Pelius says she believes community policing will improve the country’s trust in law enforcement.
