’Express des Îles has unveiled its plans to debut its largest vessel ever to navigate the Caribbean Sea, with the launch scheduled for later this year.

The company announced its goal to revolutionise Caribbean travel with this new vessel, promising unmatched comfort and operational excellence.

With a capacity to accommodate 428 passengers and vehicles, the new vessel is poised to elevate travel standards in the region, offering both convenience and luxury to its passengers.

Our commitment is not only to improve the reliability of our services on the Marie-Galante line and the international line to Dominica, Martinique, and Saint Lucia but also to stimulate growth and employment in the Caribbean, thus promoting a developing future for the community,” L’Express Des Îles President Moritz Bruns stated.

L’Express des Îles, based in Guadeloupe, has operated for 37 years. Initially, the company offered rapid passenger transport services between Guadeloupe, Les Saintes and Marie Galante, French overseas territories.

However, in 1989, it expanded its services to Martinique and Dominica, then to Saint Lucia in 1994. In 2024, the German group, FRS, which operates 60 ships in 40 countries, bought L’ Express des Îles.

Constructed in a shipyard in Norway, the 60-meter-long catamaran boasts cutting-edge features such as an advanced stabilization system and full air conditioning, ensuring a smooth and comfortable journey for passengers. Additionally, the vessel includes various onboard amenities, including a duty-free retail area and food and beverage outlets, enhancing the overall travel experience.
