Teachers’ Cooperative Workers Receive Wage Increase

lerical and technical workers employed with the Teachers’ Cooperative will enjoy a 10% pay hike between the Cooperative and the National Workers Union (NWU).

This will be spread over a three-year period broken down as 5% in Year One, 3% in Year 2, and 2% in Year 3, with four (4) months back pay.

The new industrial agreement also makes provisions for an increase in Uniform Allowance of $1000.00 yearly and Meal Allowances – Lunch and Dinner of $35.00 and Breakfast of $20.00.

Branch Shop Stewards have lauded the new industrial package which comes on the heels of the Cooperative’s decision to move to new Head Office premises in downtown Castries that enhance the operations, making it more environmentally and user-friendly to workers and patrons alike. The new package will be signed shortly via the Department of Labour.
