"W

e are thrilled to see such a remarkable increase in visitor numbers this May,” said Tourism Minister, Dr Ernest Hilaire as the country continues recording increases in the number of visitor arrivals.

Saint Lucia welcomed 36,375 stay-over arrivals in May 2024, a 9% increase from May 2023.

The total arrivals for the year up to May 2024 reached 660,521, reflecting a 4% growth compared to the same period in 2023. This success is attributed to the dynamic Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival, effective marketing efforts, and improved regional connectivity.

The success of our events, combined with our dedicated efforts, marketing strategies, and improved regional connectivity, has truly positioned Saint Lucia as a premier destination. We are deeply grateful to all stakeholders and partners who have contributed to this achievement,” said Tourism Minister Hilaire.

The Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival, a cornerstone of the island’s cultural calendar, attracted thousands of visitors globally. This year’s event showcased an impressive lineup of artists and a wide range of arts and cultural activities, highlighting Saint Lucia’s rich heritage.

Additionally, the launch of Air Adelphi and Sunrise Airways significantly improved regional connectivity, making Saint Lucia more accessible to travelers from neighboring islands.

Year-to-date figures also indicate a 2% rise in cruise arrivals from 2023, matching 2019 levels, and a 10% increase in stay-over arrivals from 2023, which is 5% higher than in 2019.
