That’s it,” declared Prime Minister Pierre at the SLP’s Castries East Annual General Meeting.
The Prime Minister’s constituency started the SLP’s annual meetings on July 7th, 2024 at the Marchand Community Centre.
Serving as a callback to the UWP’s remarks in June, where their political leader, Allen Chastanet, put civil servants “on notice”, Pierre issued the same call to the UWP.
According to the Prime Minister, he is ready to defend his name and party against the “lies and misinformation” of the UWP.
“So no calumny, no plot can ever, ever move me. I want to say it again. Nothing you all can say about me in the street corners, on Facebook, can move me,” he said.
Pierre, who has been in elective politics since 1992, says his ultimate goal is to improve the economic and social conditions of Saint Lucia.
Since the commencement of his term, Pierre has boasted of his administration’s work to secure the economy from the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“In this business, you find all kinds of things. But when you're moved by a conviction to improve the quality of life of the people of a country, you keep focused and you go forward,” he said.
Despite the criticisms levelled at him by the Opposition and the UWP, Pierre says he remains focused and spiritually led.
“I just came from talking to the Most High. How can anybody plan against me? So I want to tell them, you see me, you have me for a long, long time.”
The Annual General Meeting was well-attended and the feature speaker, Dr Ernest Hilaire, delivered a crowd-inspiring speech.
