Reports say Tixcy  sustained a gunshot wound to his head during a home invasion.

“On Thursday August 8, 2024, Major Crimes Unit’s detectives formally cautioned and charged Markaley Simeon for causing the death of Melchizedek Gilbert Tixcy. Markaley Simeon was escorted to the Magistrate’s Court for a bail hearing, after which he was remanded in custody,” a police statement read.

On Friday August 2nd, 2024, Officers attached to the Major Crimes Unit Simeon on suspicion of committing the Murder of Melchizedek Gilbert Tixcy.

Tixcy was going to celebrate his 14th birthday on Friday, August 2nd. His family says his death was a hard pill to swallow.

His father, Antonius Tixcy, remembers his son fondly as a great help.

“He was my eyes,” said the father, who is blind. “He was everything. He was the one who used to walk me around, bring me into town, and bring me to Vieux Fort. I will surely miss him,” he said.

Reports indicate that the intruders into the house were in search of Tixcy’s older sibling, who no longer lived at the residence.
