Yogi went live on his Facebook account expressing his jubilation at this achievement and his appreciation for the support and love of Saint Lucians. He expressed that his goal was to let any aspiring creative, young person know that anything is possible and his admiration for all Saint Lucians doing great work.

He teased that he was excited to come home to celebrate with Saint Lucians, even intimating a motorcade as part of the celebrations.

Johann also reminisced about the influences of his family during his musical journey and coming from the close-knit fishing village of Anse La Raye, renowned for their musical versatility.

Johann is the son of the legendary Petronilla Deterville, musician and teacher and George Deterville, a former police officer.

Prime Minister Pierre also shared a congratulatory message via telephone and social media, thanking him for inspiring a nation. Hon. Pierre and Yogi met officially met in 2024 where they spoke about plans to engage young people in communities and work with the Youth Economy.
