aint Lucia, via the Caribbean Digital Transformation Project (CARDTP) is hosting a critical in-country workshop under the Consulting Services to Develop a Cybersecurity Policy Framework for the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).

The workshop forms part of a wider initiative being implemented through the regional component of the CARDTP, spearheaded by the OECS Commission.

The primary objective of this regional consultancy is to develop comprehensive cybersecurity policy guidelines and frameworks for the Eastern Caribbean region and its participating beneficiary countries—Grenada, Dominica, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Key outputs of the consultancy include:

  1. The development of a Cybersecurity Roadmap that identifies regional priorities and formulates general objectives for the OECS.
  2. The preparation of individualized national implementation plans for each beneficiary country, outlining clear, actionable strategies to operationalize the regional roadmap.

This in-country workshop in Saint Lucia is focused on:

  1. Engaging stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to gain insight into the existing national cybersecurity landscape.
  2. Identifying priorities and key activities that will inform the development of Saint Lucia’s own cybersecurity policy framework.

One of the flagship deliverables of this effort is the formulation of a customized national cybersecurity policy framework for Saint Lucia, tailored to the country’s unique environment, risks, and digital transformation goals. The outcomes of the workshop will also support ongoing efforts under the CARDTP to establish a National Government Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CIRT) in Saint Lucia.

Attending the workshop are representatives from various government ministries, agencies, and private-sector organizations, along with key regional partners including the OECS Commission and CARICOM IMPACS.

Saint Lucia is honoured to be part of this important regional initiative and expresses sincere gratitude to all participants. Stakeholder insights, experiences, and feedback will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the resulting policy framework is inclusive, comprehensive, and reflective of the national cybersecurity landscape.
