2-year-old Customs Officer, Kimali Constable, was found dead in his vehicle in Mon Repos on July 13th by residents.

According to reports, the deceased’s vehicle was noticed idling with the air conditioning on since the night of July 12th.

However, suspicions were raised when the vehicle was in the same spot the following morning, July 14th, still idling.

One resident, Marie Eliotte, details this discovery: “I was upstairs watching TV, and then I remembered I had something in the washing machine outside. So I went outside and I heard this noise,  like a vehicle running. I thought it was ours,  but after looking, I realised it wasn't ours.  And then I'm looking to the side,  like, oh, there's a vehicle over there…and, so I just left it alone and went back upstairs inside.

The next morning, she noted, the vehicle was still there. “And then in the morning, my mother's calling me and telling me the vehicle's still here,” she explained.

Another resident, George Eliotte, says that on the morning of July 13th, he considered the idling vehicle highly odd.

When I got up the morning, a little after 6, I heard the vehicle, a vehicle idling by the road. So I came out to see, and I saw a jeep parked there. The vehicle was running, the AC was running, and all the windows were up. So I said to myself, what is going on? So I said, okay, if it's 8.30, and that vehicle is still running, I'll call the police,” he said.

He continued: “But around 7.30, minutes to 8, I heard the vehicle stop. So I assumed it ran out of gas. That's when I called the Men Repos Police Station, and they came and they took it from there.
