I have said this before, so many times, and I stand by it,” declared Prime Minister Pierre.
Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre has doubled down on his government’s zero-tolerance stance on crime.
In a spirited address this week, Pierre defended both his administration’s record and the integrity of his Cabinet, insisting that his government will act decisively if any minister is found guilty of wrongdoing.
The PM’s statement centred on Minister for Housing and Local Government Richard Frederick, noting that Frederick held ministerial office under a UWP government without facing similar condemnation from that party’s leadership at the time.
“Richard Frederick was the same Richard Frederick when the United Workers’ Party was in government. The same one. There’s no change. At that time, the United Workers’ Party and its leader never saw it fit to take any action against Richard Frederick.”
Pierre also pointed to what he described as “historic investments” in the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force under his watch, urging the opposition to match his government’s commitment to bolstering law enforcement and public safety.
He maintained that crime should never be politicised and reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to keeping Saint Lucians safe.
