rime Minister Philip J. Pierre has reaffirmed his government’s unwavering commitment to tackling crime and maintaining public safety, vowing to provide the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force with the resources necessary to effectively combat criminal activity.

Addressing citizens during a recent public appearance, Prime Minister Pierre emphasized that his administration remains focused on ensuring Saint Lucia remains “the safest place to live and work.”

“We will continue to give the police all the resources that they need to fight crime,” Pierre declared. He added that the government will provide the police with an additional sixty computers and two vehicles to strengthen their crime-fighting capacity.

The Prime Minister underscored that his government will “spare no effort” in supporting law enforcement, stressing that there is “no place in this country for violence.”

“Violence, even if it comes from a platform, has no place in Saint Lucia,” he said firmly. “This government, under my leadership, will do all we can to fight crime so criminals are not allowed to survive in this country.”

Pierre also expressed condolences to the families of recent victims of violent crime, assuring them that the government’s efforts are grounded in compassion and determination.

“I want to share with them that we understand their pain, and we will continue working to make our communities safer,” he said.

The Prime Minister’s remarks come amid a renewed national focus on public safety and law enforcement efficiency. His administration has consistently pledged to modernize the police force through technology upgrades, training, and logistical support as part of a broader strategy to enhance community policing and deterrence.

The government has recently agreed to supply every police officer with a bulletproof vest, within six months of signing the collective bargaining agreement with the Police Welfare Association.

Pierre expressed solidarity with the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, stating, “We depend on the police to keep our nation safe, and they can depend on this government to give them every tool they need to do so.”
