ith a tone of confidence and conviction, Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre has officially called General Elections for Monday, December 1, 2025, declaring that his government has “delivered on its promises” and earned the right to continue leading Saint Lucia forward.

In a national address on Sunday, November 9, Pierre announced that he had advised the Governor General to dissolve Parliament on Monday, November 10, clearing the way for Nomination Day on November 21 and the upcoming national vote.

“This government has delivered,” Pierre asserted. “We remain steadfast and committed to making Saint Lucia a better place a place we can all be proud of.”

The Prime Minister said his decision to go to the polls early was driven by a desire to maintain momentum, not necessity. Constitutionally, general elections were not required until November 2026, but Pierre made it clear that his administration’s progress warranted a renewed mandate.

“We are asking you to judge us on our record,” he told the nation. “What is unmistakably clear is that, as a government, we have delivered on our promises to put you,  the people, first.”

Pierre highlighted the Labour government’s record in education, social protection, infrastructure, and economic stability, while stressing the importance of collaboration with the private sector in creating jobs and reducing poverty.

“We shall continue to work in partnership with the private sector, recognizing its importance in creating jobs, generating wealth, and reducing poverty,” he said. “Education will remain a significant pillar in the development of our people and country because it’s the only way to empower them and to protect and strengthen our democracy.”

The Prime Minister invited citizens to review the government’s Achievements Document, which details its programs and policies over the last four and a half years. He described the document as evidence of tangible progress in areas that directly impact people’s lives.

“It would be far too extensive to include everything in this address,” Pierre added. “But the results speak for themselves.”

Calling for unity and continuity, Pierre thanked supporters for their trust and appealed to undecided voters to “join the movement for continued progress.”

Political analysts view the early election announcement as a strategic move, allowing the ruling Saint Lucia Labour Party to capitalize on its current momentum and public projects ahead of the 2026 constitutional deadline.
