he International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the seven Caribbean venues set to host the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled to take place from June 4th to June 30th, 2024.

The selected venues include Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Guyana, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad & Tobago. Additionally, the tournament will feature matches at three venues in the United States, namely Dallas, Florida, and New York.

ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice says the organisation is pleased to host its games in the Caribbean. He says the matches will receive much popularity in the region as cricket fans can view the games live in person.

We’re delighted to announce the seven Caribbean venues that will host the biggest ICC Men’s T20 World Cup ever staged, with 20 teams competing for the trophy. They’re all popular venues with players and fans alike that will provide a wonderful backdrop to the event,” he said in a press release.

The ICC, Allardice says, will be partnering with the regional body, Cricket West Indies, to facilitate a portion of the games. “This will be the third ICC senior men’s event hosted by the West Indies, and the matches will again give cricket fans the unique experience of enjoying cricket in the Caribbean. I’d like to thank Cricket West Indies and the seven host governments for their continued commitment and support of our sport.”

Cricket West Indies CEO Johnny Grave says the prospect of the World Cup in the region is thrilling. “This is an exciting moment as we announce our venues approved to host the largest ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in history, with 20 teams playing in 55 matches in June next year. We are grateful to the host Governments of the Caribbean for their overwhelming responses and enthusiasm for hosting what will be the most significant sporting event held in our region for a generation.”

In the region, the Daren Sammy Cricket Grounds in Saint Lucia is widely regarded as the most suitable venue for hosting cricket. Of late, Sports Minister, Hon. Kenson Casimir invites all citizens to play their small, but significant part in the maintenance of the grounds.
