Saint Lucia unseated the defending champions, Grenada, with 6 wickets with 143 runs. The Windwards Cricket Board issued a statement in relation to the win, praising the Saint Lucian players.

“The defending champions are dethroned by a spectacular innings by West Indies U19 Captain Ackeem Auguste who scored 80* from 69 balls and Larry Edward's 5-wicket haul,” the release reads.

The Saint Lucia National Cricket Association also released a statement, congratulating the team for their stellar performance. “After restricting defending champions Grenada to a measly total of 142, led by the bowling of Larry Edward, St Lucia was able to overhaul their score in the 26th over.”

The Windward Islands Cricket Board has also announced the selection of 12 players who will join the existing cohort of contracted Windward Islands players for the series which commences on October 4th, 2023 at Sion Hill.
