OREIGN RELATIONS: Incoming ambassador to Saint Lucia from the Republic of Indonesia, H.E. Imam Emy Mulyono affirmed his country’s commitment to the betterment of Saint Lucians.

Ambassador Mulyono says Indonesia will stand alongside Saint Lucia on matters relating to climate change and homeland security.

On this occasion, we would like to underscore the development of this region as a powerhouse, which has been one of the most successful in terms of economic development. We are pleased to announce that the number of trades between Indonesia and Saint Lucia has increased to the same period last year,” he said.

The Ambassador adds that he hopes Saint Lucia will continue its collaboration with Indonesia in a multiplicity of sectors.

In this regard, I hope we can bring together official and private sector [collaboration] of the two countries to identify the needs and trade potential of each country. [We will] further enhance cooperation on a range of important issues including trade, economy, culture and educational spheres in our countries.”

 This follows a United Nations by-line meeting, where both countries agreed to waive visa requirements for diplomatic and official passport holders.
