Fire Prevention Week 2023 began on Sunday, October 8, and continues to Saturday, October 14.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “Cooking safety starts with YOU. Pay attention to fire prevention”

The Saint Lucia Fire Service is celebrating by having a week of activities to sensitize the public to the dangers of unsafe practices while cooking.

The first activity on the calendar is a Round Table discussion being held at the Conference Room of the Fire Service Headquarters at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday 9.

The week continues with a school outreach program, on Wednesday 11 at the Clendon Mason and Piaye Secondary Schools.

On Thursday 12 and Friday 13, public outreach programs will be held in Castries and Vieux Fort respectively, with a safety fair and a live demonstration of a rescue and evacuation at each location.
