The Saint Lucian track athlete says this is his worst performance to date. Edwin’s personal best time in the 200-metre dash is 20.22 seconds. Despite the outcome of that race, he says he will continue training in anticipation of the next athletic season. Edwin says he intends to make himself and his country proud.

“That’s my worst race over the last five years, that’s my slowest time. But I’m just closing this season off and focusing on next season,” Edwin said.

As for the prospects of the next season, he says rest is crucial to his preparation. “I’ve a long season ahead…now it’s just recovering and coming back in the next couple of weeks to prepare for the games next year. Now, I could pace my season and give myself more time to rest and perform where it matters,” the athlete said.
