A

s the bustling Christmas approaches, the Castries Constituencies Council (CCC) is looking to find a solution to the widely considered overcrowded William Peter Boulevard.

On normal occasions, citizens are seen trying their best to maneuver themselves along the sidewalks, oftentimes resorting to walking in the busy street. Operations Manager of the CCC, Nicky Calderon, says it is not lost on the organisation that vendors earn their living by selling their goods on the Boulevard. To that end, he says, the CCC is looking to find a solution to the overcrowding.

There have been a few complaints of overcrowding with the vendors at the Boulevard, so we met and came up with a few ideas. Hopefully, they can be implemented,” Calderon noted. One of the ideas, he says, is to make space available in Constitution Park.

We are extending to them Constitution Park. Persons can extend from the Boulevard into that area and hopefully next year we can implement some new ideas. But we have to discuss with the Mayor first, and by extension, the council,” he explained.
