Mother of Car Crash victim says her son fell asleep while driving

he mother of a young man who succumbed after a vehicular collision during the wee hours of Saturday, July 29th, 2023 says she believes he fell asleep at the wheel.

According to the Royal St Lucia Police Force, 21-year-old Keegan Louis was the sole occupant of a motor car that crashed into a wall fencing at Bois D’ Orange along the Julian R. Hunte Highway. A medical practitioner pronounced Louis dead at the scene. 

The mother of the deceased, Louise Louis, says she has her theories surrounding her son’s fatal crash. In my heart, I am not the police, but I do believe he must have fallen asleep behind the wheel. But like I said, we’re not judging”.

Louis says she doubts theories on social media that suggest that her son was drinking. She explained, My son would not drink above his limit because he [...] had to be the designated driver. He was the one. My daughter would be out and he would go out to just escort her and be with her. They had that relationship”.

Louise describes her son as a peacemaker in her life, and the lives of others. This young man brought peace in the lives of people”. Recalling the last time she saw her son, Louise had this to say, “I saw Keegan with that joy and that happiness”.
