Leonce was fishing with a friend at Cap Estate on Sunday, November 19, 2023, when a wave pulled him into the open water. His friend made numerous unsuccessful attempts to rescue him. Over the course of Monday and Tuesday, additional rescue efforts were made by the police Marine Unit and work colleagues from the Sandals Grande Hotel to locate the missing man.

On the morning of November 22, 2023, law enforcement was informed of a grounded lifeless body that surfaced at Vigie Beach, Castries. Relatives were able to identify the deceased by a distinctive tattoo on his body.

Meanwhile, the police are continuing their investigation into a suspected drowning at Laborie Beach on Monday, November 20 2023. The identity of the deceased is still unknown. While probing that incident, another body was discovered on Wednesday morning, at Laborie Beach.

The RSLPF is currently investigating these two incidents. The police are appealing to the public to contact the Laborie Police Station at 456-3645, the Gros-Islet Police Station at 456-3830, or the Crime Hotline at 555 to provide any information to assist with the investigations.
