This announcement follows complaints by residents regarding the condition of the roadways amid other infrastructural projects across the country.
The MP says he hasn’t forgotten their concerns and will do all in his power to repair them.
“I am intimately aware of the road conditions in Cap Estate. We personally drove through there a couple of times last weekend and the past weekends. We've done a lot of measurements, costing and design for roads in that community,” the MP said.
He reminds residents that the road rehabilitations will be undertaken in a phased approach as not all roads can be fixed at the same time.
“The unfortunate thing is we will not be able to do every single road in Cap Estate. Anybody who drives through will understand and appreciate the vast nature of Cap Estate. We've already calculated close to 40 road interventions for that community.”
Casimir says he will continue holding discussions with the Ministry of Infrastructure to meet the roadworks demands.
“In the meantime, I'll continue to appeal to the Ministry of Infrastructure to do the roadworks, the interventions, the basic interventions beyond the private sector who have not really stepped up as yet to actually get it done,” he said.
He adds that the private sector is also stepping up to its social responsibility.
“But I've had conversations with companies such as Cabot who have indicated that they are going to play their part in actually doing some work on the main capacity road.”
