"O

ur motive is to improve the lives of the people of Saint Lucia - to get a system where generational wealth can be in place for the people of this country,” remarked Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre during a sod-turning ceremony for the commencement of the Mount Pimard Project at Rodney Bay.

The EC $870 million investment by The Life Co will be a health and wellness-oriented resort and spa on the face of Mt. Pimard. The investors have promised to blend local and visitor experiences, vowing to enhance Reduit Beach at the base of the mount.

Comprising resort rooms, private villas and residences, A’ila Resorts will be uniquely divided into several zones, the first of which, the Life Co. is scheduled to be completed in 2025,” declared Invest Saint Lucia CEO, Octavian Charles.

Named A’ila Resorts and TheLifeCo Holistic Wellness Hotel development, the total project will be constructed in a phased approach.

The ISL CEO added that the entire investment project will be completed by 2027.

Other components of this project would include A’ila Palm, a family-friendly resort, A’ila Cove, an exclusively adults-only resort, A’ila Sunset Residences, the Seven Wonders Luxury Villas set to be completed in 2027, and the Blue Zone Avenue, which will consist of a commercial area, retail spaces and long -term residences,” he said.

Deputy Prime Minister and Investment Minister Ernest Hilaire disclosed that the investors were enthusiastic to include locals into the development schematics.

Every time we speak of a requirement to the group, they actually tell us, “That's good”. For example, when we said to them [that Reduit Beach] is favoured by Saint Lucians, it's special for the community of Gros Islet, and we would need to build a facility there and invest. And they said “We'll take care of that for you”,” Hilaire explained.

The Deputy PM assures Saint Lucians that beach access will not be restricted. Per the development plans, the investors are supposed to build comfort and toilet facilities along the beach and build footpaths for the Mt. Pimard trail
