Local Swim Champs Concludes - Sharks and Sea Jays Emerge Champions

harks Swim Club (Women) and Sea Jays Swim Club (Men) came out on top as the 2024 Saint Lucia Aquatics Federation (SLAF) National Swimming Championships concluded last weekend, 18-19 May.

Emma Fortune (Sharks) was the most outstanding athlete in the 8 & Under Girls, with six gold medals and 66 points. Sapphire Parks (Sea Jays) won all seven of her events in the 9-10 Girls category. In the 11-12 Girls, Amara Reece (Lighnting Aquatics) had seven gold medals and 83 points. Kayla-Marise Inglis (Sharks) was the 13-14 Girls winner, earning five gold medals and 66 points. And Fayth Lubrun (Lighnting Aquatics) grabbed the 15 & Over Girls gong with six gold medals and 68 points.

Miles Andrew (Sea Jays) won nine events and compiled 88 points to capture the high points trophy in the 8 & Under Boys. Tyler Dantes (Sharks) won six events and the overall trophy in the 9-10 Boys. With 66 points, Sylvester James (Sea Jays) won a very competitive 11-12 Boys division. Jayden Xu (Sea Jays) got 71 points and four gold medals in the 13-14 Boys class. 

In the 15 & Over Boys, Karic Charles (Lightning Aquatics) dominated with wins in all eight of his individual events and 72 points.
