DPP Breaks Silence Days after Leader of the Opposition Calls Him Out

oincidentally, days after the Leader of the Opposition, Allen Chastanet called on the DPP who he claimed was “too silent”, Director of Public Prosecution, Daarsrean Greene has convened a media conference on Wednesday, June 19th, 2024

Matters of concern include the ongoing IMPACS-Operation Restore Confidence probe and other pending homicide cases subject to special police investigation.

These matters include the homicides of:

  • REGINALD JEAN - shot and killed by the Police on 28th February, 2011 at Marchand. 
  • DWIGHT HENRY - shot and killed by the Police on 121h April, 2011 at Marigot Quarter of Anse La Raye.
  • KEVIN FERDINAND, ROSARIUS MARQUIS, JOHN BAPTISTE MACARLANE, MITCHELL CADETTE and ALLEN LOUISY - all shot and killed by the Police on 5th May, 2011 at Vieux Fort.

The DPP will also address and provide updates on the following:

  •  CHAKADAN DANIEL - Found dead while in police custody at the Micoud Police Station on 23th October, 2013.
  • KIMBERLY DE-LEON - shot and killed at her residence on 29th October 2018.
  • ARNOLD JOSEPH - shot and killed by the Police on 22th May, 2019.
  • OLIVER GOBAT - killed on 25th April 2014.

The media will thereafter have the opportunity to ask questions not limited to the updates provided. It is intended for the general public through this press conference to gain greater insight into the Crown Prosecution Service which will foster a better understanding and appreciation for the office's functions.
