Saint Lucia Forging Connections with African Financers

here are countries in Africa that are showing excessive growth and development.

What we're doing is that we strengthened that alliance,” said Prime Minister Pierre in relation to the recently concluded AfreximBank forum in The Bahamas.

With a focus on housing development for his first term in office, the Prime Minister indicated that the government will continue collaborating with its African counterparts to secure financing for housing projects.

We were there to speak to them about increased support for Saint Lucia. And one of the things that we spoke of is support for housing. So hopefully, we have some follow-up work to do.”

Currently, Saint Lucia has secured USD 6 million from the Bank for the rehabilitation of schools across the island, one of them being the Entrepot Secondary School.

The President of the Bank, I would like to thank him. He is very, very excited about Saint Lucia. Hopefully, we can make an announcement of some more developments in housing from the African Export-Import Bank,” Pierre said.

Pierre notes that a significant part of his external affairs policy is the formation of bonds with new international partners.
