Lucian Carnival 2024 Biggest On Record According to Arrival Figures

rom our preliminary figures, we can safely say that Lucian Carnival 2024 was a success,” boldly declared Chair of the Carnival Planning and Management Committee, Tamara Gibson.

Gibson made the revelation immediately after the closure of Lucian Carnival 2024 on Wednesday, July 17th, 2024. The CPMC Chair announced that preliminary arrival figures for this year’s festivities show a steady increase in the number of revellers.

We're really proud to say that we've increased our numbers from 2023, where we were at about 15,000 and now we've moved to 18,000, and we just want to remind you that these are just preliminary numbers,” she explained.

The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority also joined the marketing campaign for “Destination Saint Lucia”, which is the official brand for the country. The Authority partnered with social media influencers and celebrities to have them participate in the Parade of the Bands.

These popular influencers and celebrities share strong connections with Saint Lucia and the Caribbean at large.

Public Relations Manager of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, Geraine Georges, explains that the SLTA is committed to marketing Saint Lucia around the globe.

We are very pleased with the support and our efforts to continue marketing Lucian Carnival in the global marketplace. And in an effort to do so, we continued our partnership this year with celebrities, influencers, as well as media partners.”

These influencers include:

  • Nathalie Emmanuel, actress from Game of Thrones, Fast and Furious Franchise, Army of Thieves
  • Kora Obidi, Nigerian sensation, singer, dancer, content creator,
  • Chloe Bailey, American singer/songwriter for a second consecutive year
  • Jessie Woo, actress, musician, content creator, Comedienne
  • Patrice Roberts, Soca Artiste of international repute
  • Shanique Singh, Miss Jamaica World 2022

The iconic Carnival Monday and Tuesday were abuzz with tourists and social media discussion. For the two days, Lucian Carnival was trending on various social media outlets, being described as “the place to be”.
