The official homecoming celebrations for Saint Lucia's first-ever Olympic champion, Julien Alfred, are happening in September! Olympic Gold Medalist, Julien Alfred is slated to arrive in Saint Lucia on September 24, 2024 for a 4-day visit. 

 

Julien Alfred, the fastest woman in the world one her first Gold and Silver medal at her debut during the 2024 Summer Olympics held in Paris. Saint Lucians at home and around the world held watch parties as the Saint Lucian anthem played and the flag was hoisted as Ms. Alfred was adorned with the coveted gold medal for the Women's 100 metres. 

 

Since the games, and the stellar performance by OECS islands namely Grenada and Dominica, elaborate homecoming events have been held to welcome their Olympians with well-earned gifts of appreciation being bestowed on medaling athletes and even participating athletes. 

 

Saint Lucians are being put on alert to ready themselves for what should be spectacular celebration of excellency in the coming weeks.
