Among the roster of competitors is American favourite, Sha’Carri Richardson, who came in 2nd place after Alfred in the Olympic 100 metre finals.

Fans of Richardson are hopeful for some reprieve at the September 5th race.

Meanwhile, both local and regional fans of the Saint Lucian-born sprinter have their sights set on a September 24th homecoming.

Like other Caribbean-born Olympic Champions, Alfred is expected to receive numerous prestigious gifts from the government.

Julien Alfred will also make a feature on Season 2 of Netflix’s Sprint, which will document her and others’ journey to Olympic glory.
