He was 25 years old and was the island’s 66th homicide for the year. Felix, from Barre St. Joseph, Castries, leaves behind a family and Dennery Segment community who mourns his passing. The other half of the iconic duo and Dayne’s uncle, Denzel Hutchinson, says the loss of G6 is painful.
“Dayne was not involved in any criminal activity, including gang warfare. His main focus was creating music, the majority of which became hits both locally and abroad. Dayne was not in any war, he was not involved in any gang, he could have walked the street and go anywhere he wanted to, so this situation just came as a shock to us, the family,” Hutchinson explained. According to Hutchinson, Dayne was on his way to work when the gunman opened fire on him.
Felix’s grandfather, Peter Marius, is distraught following Dayne’s passing. He informed reporters that Dayne’s uncle was gunned down in Castries about two years ago on Friday, 13th October 2021. “They are destroying my children,” Marius told the press in the wake of G6’s death. He says the heart of many Saint Lucians has gone cold, lamenting that, “If you have love in your heart, you won’t kill.”
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has appealed to anyone with information about the case to come forward. Individuals may provide anonymous tips at the telephone number 555.
