Senior Supervisor at the Water and Sewerage Company, Timothy James, explained that following the successful completion of the repairs, WASCO initiated efforts to restore the water supply.
Despite progress, James revealed that the water supply had not yet reached all consumers, particularly those situated at the network’s extremities and higher elevations. Assuring the public, James stated, “We are doing our utmost to ensure we restore the supply to everyone. If we are not able to reach everybody, we have a plan B in place where we will try to drop [water to people] and put water in their tanks,” he explained. On Thursday, water trucks had been dispatched to affected areas.
James says while closing the network during the festive season inconvenienced many consumers, the repairs had to be done immediately.
“Sometimes you have to [make] tough decisions and do what you need to do.”
