PWA Anxiously Anticipating DPP’s Address

Thursday, Jun 13

"T

he PWA really is like everybody else, anticipating the announcement,” revealed President of the Police Welfare Association, Cameron Laure.

The Director of Public Prosecutions, Daarsrean Greene, has announced that he will convene a media conference on Wednesday June 19th to update the public on matters of concern.

Notably, the DPP has announced his press conference one day after being called out by Opposition Leader Allen Chastanet, who criticised his silence in recent times.

The PWA President says neither he nor his membership are aware of the DPP’s updates. Laure says the Welfare Association will await the updates patiently.

We are a little anxious, but we remain focused and we wait to hear what the DPP has to say. We really don't know where he is going or what he is going to announce. But until such time, we wait patiently for that press conference.”

Laure assures that the PWA will continue liaising with the Police Force executive after the revelations made at the DPP’s address.

I'm sure we're going to have a conversation with the Commissioner as it relates to whatever announcement if it really is necessary to do so. But until such time, like I said, the most we could do is wait to hear the contents of the DPP's press conference,” he said.

DPP Greene is set to provide updates on no less than 11 cases spanning more than ten years.
