"T

he RSLPF continues to prioritize community engagement through ongoing school visits, food and mobile patrols, and other community policing initiatives,” said Police Sergeant Ann Joseph in an RSLPF crime update.

In an update to the public, one day ahead of the DPP’s update to the nation, the RSLPF reassures that the Force is committed to bringing peace and security.

Sergeant Joseph discloses that the police are intensifying its community policing initiatives, especially with youth in at-risk areas.

Notably, the Marchand Police Station has actively supported local youth, including assisting a young male in his academic journey following the tragic death of his father,” said Officer Joseph.

The RSLPF is also conducting special operations to get the gun crime situation under control. In a recent arrest, she explained, a man was arrested for stealing a licensed firearm.

Further demonstrating our commitment, personnel from the Micoud Police Station arrested Johnson Alexander on June 10th and that was following the theft of a licensed firearm from a motor vehicle. The firearm was successfully recovered and Alexander was charged in connection with the theft.”

Sergeant Joseph underscores the importance of community support in curbing violent crime.

We also acknowledge the essential cooperation of the public. Effective crime fighting requires not only the concerted efforts of the police, but also the unwavering support of the community we serve.”
