The victim, thirty-year-old Shayn Edwin, was conveyed to the Owen King European Union (OKEU) Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.

On Wednesday, January 3, 2024, the Major Crimes Unit arrested, twenty-six-year-old (26) Marcel Demille of Hospital Road, Castries. Marcel Demille was subsequently charged for the murder of Shayn Edwin.

On Tuesday, January 9, 2024, Marcel Demille was taken before the First District Court in Castries for the purpose of bail. He was remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facility.
