He is the fourth homicide for 2024. Information from the police is still pending.

On Saturday, January 13th, 2024, the lifeless body of Denroy “Bounty” Saltibus was found on Capital Hill, Morne Fortune, Castries. He sustained severe injuries to his head. He was the third homicide for 2024.

Residents of Morne Fortune describe Saltibus as a mentally ill man who did odd jobs to make a living.

“I don’t like that because he was my friend. He was coming at my home often. He wasn’t a bad boy. He was doing things for people in the community. He wasn’t so bad. I don’t know why they would kill him,” a neighbour said.

Circumstances regarding Saltibus’ death are still largely unknown. Law enforcement continues to investigate both of these homicides.

In 2023, Saint Lucia recorded 70 murders and 5 police killings, for a total of 75 homicides.
